“Christmas is nearly here and Arnie and I will have a few quiet days but as we are heading off to Addington high profile early January means we cannot get too lazy!
Since our last blog, Arnie and I had an amazing lesson with the equally amazing Hayley Watson Greaves. It’s so interesting to see what she had to say, and we were getting a bit lost as to how to progress and improve further so this lesson provided us with so much help and advice it was great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and have so much more direction now and Arnie really enjoyed the challenge- I’ve never seen his passage so big! That took some core strength to sit too!!
We then went off to Keysoe High Profile show. Arnie was on great form and we warmed up for the first test looking super hot, the test started and we were trending plus 68% however as we approached our pirouette the judge in the next door arena (sat diagonally behind Arnie) dropped something as she rang her bell and it sounded like a gun going off! This totally freaked Arnie out and that was it- he just had a massive melt down and we couldn’t recover which meant we retired. Our next test was only 20 minutes later so we didn’t get much time to calm him down but we did score plus 65% which was still a very respectable score. The second day Arnie was still unsettled but did have a go and although tense he managed 11th in the Inter1 with another plus 65% and 3rd in the Inter1 freestyle with plus 67% so we finished on a good note. Plus I now know Arnie isn’t scared of Christmas trees! Keysoe made such an effort in decorating the arena and it looked stunning. Arnie is having Activgait every day and this really does keep him so free and supple and able to do the work he does. We cannot thank Pro-Equine enough for the support they give us. Whilst Arnie was away we kept him topped up with Pro-Equine’s Colikare which is an amazing supplement, helping to keep his stomach settled and functioning normally, even during stressful situations. He also thrives having Pro-Equine’s Mud Bug Buster applied every day to his scabby bits on his fetlocks – in just five days his legs have improved so much. We live on this gel all year round as it’s just brilliant.
We hope everyone has an enjoyable Christmas and New Year and we look forward to our first outing in January at Addington.”
