Sustainability shapes every decision we make, from the ingredients we choose to the way we manufacture, package, and deliver our products. read on to discover our sustainability story. We formulate every product with natural, plant based ingredients and package them in recycled and fully recyclable materials such as our Ecycle bottles and containers including our trigger sprays, 100% of the polymer used in the manufacture of these bottles is PCR HDPE โ Post-Consumer Recycled. You may find throughout the Pro-Equine range that the finished colour of packaging made from 100% recycled HDPE polymer can be variable in colour. This is due to there being disparity in the colour of items entering the recycling process and is completely normal.
Plastic free packaging
When you place your order online, you can be assured that it will arrive well packaged and plastic free! We have teamed up with our local community and regularly collect natural packaging materials that would usually end up stuffed in bins, giving them a new purpose to pack again!
We know that riders and yard owners are increasingly conscious of the environmental footprint of the products they use. By choosing recyclable packaging and avoiding complex mixed materials, we make it easier for our customers to dispose of containers responsibly.
Down the drain
When bathing your horse, have you ever considered what residues are pouring down the drain? Our shampoo range for example is 100% natural, plant based and biodegradable ensuring safe waste with no environmental impact. Our longโterm goal is to transition to even more sustainable packaging solutions as new materials and technologies become viable.
SmallโBatch Production for Big Impact
Producing in small batches is a deliberate choice. It allows us to maintain exceptional quality control, reduce waste, and avoid the overproduction that often leads to unnecessary disposal of expired or surplus stock. Smallโbatch manufacturing also means we can respond quickly to demand without compromising freshness or efficacy.
Our smallโbatch UK production reduces waste, lowers transport emissions, and ensures consistent quality. All our products are lovingly hand made at our premises on beautiful Royal Deeside with no machinery ensuring less energy and emissions.
Natural Ingredients with Purpose
Our formulations begin with a simple principle: use the best natural plant based ingredients available and use them for a reason. Every herb, oil, and plant extract we select is chosen for its proven benefits and suitability for horses. We avoid unnecessary fillers, artificial colours, and synthetic additives because they offer no value to the horse and add unnecessary strain to the environment.
By focusing on plantโbased, naturally derived ingredients, we reduce the environmental impact associated with synthetic production processes. Many of our ingredients are sourced from suppliers who share our values โ those who prioritise responsible farming practices, soil health, and biodiversity. This approach not only supports a more sustainable supply chain but also ensures that our products remain gentle, effective, and transparent.
A Supply Chain Built on Responsibility
Sustainability doesnโt stop at ingredients and packaging โ it extends to every part of our supply chain. We work with partners who share our commitment to ethical practices. This includes everything from responsible ingredient sourcing to the energy used in production facilities. We have had a long-standing relationship with Norvite who are our local suppliers of their Neoflow โ rapeseed oil. Increasing their sustainable credentials, In 2022 Norvite commissioned a solar array on the roof of the plant, this renewable energy generates 20MWh of electricity per annum and saves at least 93 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
