We are incredibly proud of our sponsored rider, Carmen Gammie, and her own 10‑year‑old gelding Let’s Make an Opera, who won the Prix St Georges Silver at the Petplan Winter Area Festival Championships with an impressive 67.01%.
Carmen bought Opera as a five‑year‑old from Whitehill Stud and has produced him herself ever since, training alongside Hannah Moody. With his sweet nature and big personality, Opera has always been a joy — which made it all the more heart breaking when, at seven, he became seriously ill with a severe virus. Carmen recalls, “We actually thought we were going to lose him. He was off for four months and it took a long time to build him back up.”
Now based at the world‑class Bogenraith Equestrian Centre in Aberdeenshire, just a stone’s throw from Pro‑Equine HQ, Opera made the long journey to Addington for the Championships — and delivered.
Carmen says, “Unbelievably proud of my darling Opera, my little superstar. Excited to see what we can achieve with a mistake‑free test! Thank you to Pro‑Equine and Martine’s Equine Services with Hofmag for all of their support in our dressage journey.”
A huge congratulations to Carmen and Opera — what a partnership, and what a comeback.
