Fresh from a lesson with Hayley Watson-Greaves, Louisa and Arnie travelled to Keysoe for their final show of the year. Unexpected loud noises caused a meltdown on day one but Arnie trusted Louisa enough on day 2 to achieve some great scores.
Pro-Equine Director, Catherine Stott, was presented with the Grampian & Highland RDA Volunteer of the Year Award by HRH Princess Anne.
Thanks to Colikare, Arnie, the unconventional dressage horse, has changed yards without any stress or weight loss. Louisa, Arnie’s owner, comments: “Arnie gets unsettled and anxious with change so we dosed him up on Colikare every day to help keep his stomach calm and settled. This meant he was able to utilize his feed better and he didn’t lose any weight and looks great!”
Charlie, an 11-year old, 17hh Irish Sports Horse, has very important parade duties which he simply couldn’t do without Activgait easing the arthritis in his joints. Charlie has been on Activgait for 2 years and copes well with parading the streets of London as well as hacking in Windsor Park when he’s not on duty.
I was very unsure about using Colikare but I am delighted I did. I have a 22yr Cushings pony who has really been struggling with mild colic which usually walks off. She has had 3 lots of colic which has needed Buscapan from the vets, they were happening at least once a week. I don’t want to tempt fate, but she’s been on Colikare (10mls a day) for a month and not had one episode. I can’t thank you enough.
With far from ideal preparation (Arnie had a dose of cellulitis just 2 weeks before the championships), Arnie and Louisa strutted their stuff right onto the podium at the PetPlan Equine Championships at Hartpury in April.
2019 is well and truly under way for Pro-Equine sponsored rider Louisa Spencer and her “unconventional dressage horse” Arnie. After enjoying a few quiet weeks over the festive period, Arnie and Louisa were soon straight back to work having decided to compete alongside the best in the country at Addington High Profile show. Louisa keeps Arnie on Activgait throughout the off-season so wasn’t worried when she needed to up his workload.
